Fire Permits

Permits are required for the installation or modification of any fire sprinkler system or fire alarm system installed in the City of Richland Hills.  The city has adopted, by ordinance, the 2012 International Fire Code, 2012 International Building Code and the North Central Texas Council of Government (COG) Amendments to both of those codes.

A Permit Application can be obtained at the Fire Administration offices for the city or downloaded here.  The permit fee is based on the valuation of the job being performed.   To obtain a permit please complete the Permit Application, submit it with 3 copies of the plans and technical specifications (two will be returned) and payment for the permit and plan review.  The city has up to 10 business days in which to return submitted plans.  The permit fee schedule is listed below or you can view or download the City's Building Permit Fees schedule.  Plan review fees are 65% of the permit fee.
