Emergency Management

Emergency Management is responsible for disaster planning for the City of Richland Hills. This is accomplished by conducting a program of comprehensive emergency management principles including:

  • Mitigation
  • Preparedness
  • Response
  • Recovery

Identifying Hazards

An important part of this process is conducting an ongoing survey of actual or potential hazards which threaten life and property within the City of Richland Hills. Once these hazards are identified, planning takes place to reduce the impact of such hazards if a disaster did occur.

All this information contributes to the development of an emergency management plan, which addresses these issues and serves as a guide for the City to respond to disasters. Another benefit of this information is it allows us to present pertinent information regarding disaster preparedness to the public.
