Appearing in Court

Defendants who are claiming indigency or want to receive time serve credit must appear before the Judge on their scheduled appearance date.

If you are charged with the following violation, you must appear on your scheduled appearance date:

  • Speeding: 25 mph over the posted speed or 15 mph over the posted speed in a school zone
  • Any moving violation in a construction zone with workers present
  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • Fleeing from police (evading arrest)
  • Failure to stop for school bus
  • Teen Court Requests
  • Individuals Charged with an Education Code violation

Parent or Guardian Requirement

A parent or guardian must appear with:

  • Juvenile defendants 16 or under
  • Minor defendants 18 or under charged with an with alcohol offense
  • Minor defendants 17 or under charged with a tobacco offense

Courtroom Dress Code

  • No short shorts or short skirts
  • No tube tops
  • No tank tops or muscle shirts
  • No strapless shirt/dresses
  • No spaghetti straps
  • No halter tops
  • No midriff baring tops
  • No low cut tops
  • No hats, caps or bandanas
  • No sunglasses
  • No obscene or profane language or illustrations on clothing
