On the first Tuesday in October, neighborhoods throughout Richland Hills are invited to join forces with thousands of communities for the annual Texas Night Out (TNO) crime and drug prevention event. Texas Night Out is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
- Generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Residents in Richland Hills are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outside with their neighbors and police department. Many neighborhoods throughout Richland Hills will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, visits from police, contests, and youth activities.
Anyone can host a block party. Contact 817-616-3783 or Email Community Services for more information. You can also register your party online. Those that register in advance will be guaranteed a visit from members of the police department and receive goodie bags for the kids.
If your block is not hosting a party or you are not comfortable hosting a party this year, please consider joining us at The LINK Plaza for a Community Block Party on October 2, 2023 from 6-8 pm for food, games, and fun!
