Open Records Request

The Texas Public Information Act gives the public the right to request access to government information.

How to Request

To obtain public information from the Richland Hills Police Department, the request must be submitted in writing to the Records Tech. The request must ask for records or information already in existence.

The Texas Public Information Act does not require a governmental body to create new information, to do legal research, or to answer questions. The Texas Office of Attorney General has published tips for successful public information requests.

Request Forms

To expedite the public information request, the City of Richland Hills has created a Police Department Open Records Request Form (PDF) that can be mailed, hand carried, emailed, or faxed to the Records Tech. All associated fees are posted on the Open Records Request Form.

You can also submit your request online with our Police Department Open Records Request Submission Form
