Sales Tax
The total sales tax collected in the City of Richland Hills is 8.25%. The City receives 2% of sales tax. 0.25% is allocated to the Richland Hills Development Corporation. 0.37% is allocated to the Crime Control Prevention District. The Street and Road Improvement Fund also receives 0.37%.

Property Tax
The Tarrant Appraisal District determines the value of all taxable property within the City of Richland Hills. Each October, annual property tax statements are mailed out by the Tarrant County Tax Assessor Collector. The City has a contract with the Tarrant County Tax Assessor Collector to handle the property tax billings and collections on behalf of the City.
Every year, the City of Richland Hills adopts a tax rate along with an operating budget in September. The total property tax rate allocated to the City is comprised of two elements: Maintenance & Operations and Debt Service rates.
