Household Hazardous Waste & Document Shredding

Household Hazardous Waste Collection is your opportunity to dispose of items you can't put with your regular garbage pickup or Bulk Pickup. Proof of City of Richland Hills residency (driver's license or current utility bill) is required.

  • Paint (limit of five cans)
  • Painting supplies
  • Automotive fluids and filters
  • Cleaners and chemicals
  • Hobby chemicals
  • Lawn/garden/pool chemicals
  • Light bulbs
  • Cooking oils
  • Batteries

Items Not Accepted

  • Ammunition and explosives
  • Butane/propane cylinders
  • Prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and medical waste
  • Asbestos
  • PCBs/radioactive items
  • Any commercial, business and industrial waste
  • Bulk items, such as furniture and appliances

Most paper documents and files will be accepted for on-site shredding, including paperclips and staples. Phone books, newspapers and magazines will not be accepted.
