Operating hours at Richland Hills City Hall, Public Works and the records division of the Police Department are now Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm and closed Friday. These service areas are open during normal lunch hours, Monday through Thursday.
We're in a very competitive job market, and we have to find ways to recruit and retain an exemplary team of public servants,
City Manager Candice Edmondson said. Studies have shown having a compressed/flexible work schedule is one of the top benefits the current workforce is seeking. The City of Richland Hills is committed to be an employer of choice, and by offering a compressed work schedule we will not only attract skilled employees but also improve the work/life balance of current City staff.
Code Compliance, Parks and Facilities, and Animal Services staff work compressed schedules and alternate days off to ensure full coverage is provided for those services.
New operating hours for City Hall, Public Works and Police Records began on a trial basis in early July 2022. City Council received an update regarding staff and resident satisfaction with the compressed work schedule at their September 26, 2022, meeting, during which time City Council formally adopted the new operating hours.
A list of all City facility hours is available in the directory. For after-hours emergencies, such as water main breaks, sewer problems, etc., please call Richland Hills Dispatch at 817-281-1000.
